Eric Beechey of Kellington ....Wind Farm Proposal
Eric Beechey - a Kellington Parish Councillor says...
I attended the wind farm presentation on Monday. I went with a completely open mind and I have to say I was extremely impressed by the whole set up.
There is no doubt that something positive has to be done in order to combat global warming and ANY positive contribution to that end has to be taken seriously. To say that the Selby area makes a large enough contribution to the nation's energy pool seems to me to be very negative statement and it appears to have a NIMBY significance.
I will be very interested in reading Mistral Energy's submission when planning permission is sought. However, I do feel that anyone who has any doubt about this project should contact the Senior Development Manager, Matt Kelly, and seek clarification on the aspect that troubles them.
At this stage my gut feeling is to support the project, however, depending on information circulated by Mistral Energy this could be modified.
